First VisitParker, CO
Welcome to Canyon Ridge Pediatric Dentistry! Our goal is to help children feel comfortable and happy at the dental office for their first visit and every visit after.
As you arrive at our office you will be invited to fill out the new patient paperwork in our waiting room. Our waiting room features amenities such as video games, a 100 gallon fish tank and a play area for the kids. We have also recently added animal photography to our waiting area and throughout the office.
Parents are always invited and encouraged to accompany their children during their visit. Each dental chair features a television so that children can watch and listen to a movie while having their teeth cleaned. We have a variety of children friendly flavors for the cleaning. During the first visit your child’s teeth will be cleaned, advice will be give on how to improve their oral hygiene and reduce the risk of cavities. We also may recommend x-rays and use smaller sized x-ray sensors for smaller mouths. A dental examination will be performed, any dental concerns are discussed with Dr. Thomas and fluoride varnish in one of four child friendly flavors is placed on the teeth.
At the end of every appointment each child will receive a new toothbrush, toothpaste and floss and is invited to pick out a prize. The children who do not have cavities are welcome to enter their name into our “Cavity Free Club” which is a raffle drawing for a gift at the end of the month that we will give to a patient at each office. Finally the next appointment is schedule for six months.
It is very common when the appointment is over for younger kids to want to stay longer to play!
